Chaotic House (MAGA) Republicans (Expectedly) Fail (Again) to Vote On Budget Continuing Resolution
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, House Republicans pulled the continuing budget resolution before taking a vote. If this feels familiar, it’s because we’ve seen this mess before. Just ask former Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Chaos has defined the budget process since Republicans took control of the House – as Speaker Mike Johnson now continues to prioritize extremism over governing.
The proposed continuing resolution incorporated the so-called SAVE Act, an extreme legislative proposal intended to promote misinformation about our elections – and lay the groundwork for future efforts to overturn election results.
In response to the latest episode of legislative incompetence, House Accountability War Room spokesperson Malachi White released the following statement:
“Passing a continuing resolution to prevent a government shutdown is the bare minimum, and while Congress should at least be capable of that, House Republicans just can’t get it done. Why? Because House Republicans are so obsessed with promoting election conspiracy theories and advancing their Project 2025 agenda that they are incapable of fulfilling one of their basic responsibilities. Unfortunately, it’s the American people – as always – who will ultimately pay the price for these cycles of chaos and extremism.”
