Chicago: President Biden’s Economic Vision Stays Laser Focused on American Middle Class While MAGA Republicans Offer Up Tax Handouts for Billionaires, Foreign Corporations

Biden: “The trickle-down approach failed the middle class…It stripped the dignity, pride and hope out of communities, one after another.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, President Biden delivered a speech touting his economic accomplishments and laying out his vision for the future that remains focused on growing America’s middle class. The president’s strong record rests on tangible wins for the country’s working families: funding more than 35,000 public projects to rebuild America’s infrastructure, overseeing nearly $500 billion in private investment for domestic production, and creating a manufacturing boom: with 66% more investment on manufacturing facilities leading to nearly 800,000 manufacturing jobs.

These successes come in spite of MAGA Republicans’ harmful and out-of-touch economic agenda in Congress. As President Biden and Congressional Democrats continue their own laser-like focus on the middle class, Congressional Republicans have continued their laser-like focus on tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy and major corporations, while slashing critical programs American families rely on.

“While MAGA extremists continue trying to jam through taxpayer giveaways to billionaires and corporations that ship American jobs overseas, President Biden offered an alternative vision that prioritizes the middle-class,” said Zac Petkanas, Senior Advisor to the House Accountability War Room. “It was a refreshing contrast to the conveyor belt of MAGA policies attempting to gut investments in veterans, education, and infrastructure in order to put more money in the pockets of the rich and powerful.
