House Accountability War Room Releases Research Tying Republican Representatives to Project 2025 policies
WASHINGTON DC – House Accountability War Room has concluded its release of a slate of research sites demonstrating significant overlap between the voting records of 15 House Republicans and the policies listed in Project 2025. While Republicans work to distance themselves from the extreme Project 2035 agenda, it is undeniable that they are actively working to push many of the proposals in the document through the House of Representatives.
The sites provide research and analysis on House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-04), House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (LA-01), House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (NY-21), and Representatives Scott Perry (PA-10), Bryan Steil (WI-01), David Schweikert (AZ-01), Don Bacon (NE-02), Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), John Duarte (CA-13), Mike Garcia (CA-27), Anthony D’esposito (NY-04), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), Marc Molinaro (NY-19), Jen Kiggans (VA-02), and Derrick Van Orden (WI-03).
From seeking to impose harsh work requirements on SNAP beneficiaries and providing cover for wealthy tax evaders, to championing LGBTQ+ discrimination and pushing increasing fossil fuel extraction, it is clear that the House Republican agenda and the policies proposed by Project 2025 are strongly aligned Speaker Mike Johnson went so far as to say, “I certainly support the groups that are behind [Project 2025] and the principles that they’ve been working on.”
“With the voting public increasingly opposed to Project 2025 and its proposals, many Republicans have sought to distance themselves from the document,” said House Accountability War Room Spokesperson Danny Turkel. “House Accountability War Room’s research is clear: House Republicans – despite what they may claim – are attempting to make Project 2025 the law of the land. In order to hold our elected representatives accountable, it is crucial that voters call out House Republicans for their support of and ties to Project 2025, and their attempts to enact its proposals through Congress.”
