House GOP’s Stunt at Trump’s Trial: Outrageous Display of Contempt for the Rule of Law

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, in response to MAGA extremists like Freedom Caucus Chair Bob Good and Representatives Matt Gaetz and Andy Biggs sitting in on Donald Trump’s former trial in Manhattan on election interference charges, House Accountability War Room spokesperson Zac Petkanas released the following statement:

“This latest political stunt from House Republicans is simply outrageous. After repeatedly downplaying Donald Trump’s role in instigating the violence that took place on January 6, this latest effort to support a man facing multiple civil and criminal trials shows House Republicans’ utter contempt for the rule of law,” said Petkanas. “Americans have been clear: no one is above the law.”

Additional Background:

According to Punchbowl, among those anticipated to be with Trump in New York include House Freedom Caucus Chair Bob Good (R-Va.), Florida GOP Reps. Anna Paulina Luna, Michael Waltz, and Matt Gaetz, and Reps. Michael Cloud (R-Texas), Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) and Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.). Previously, Speaker Mike Johnson and Sens. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) also attended the trial. These extremists were leaders in voting to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

recent Navigator Research poll released earlier this month found that, in supporting Donald Trump as he faces multiple civil and criminal trials, these MAGA extremists are going against the American people. In fact:
