MAGA House Republicans Promote The Bie Lie On The RNC Stage As Rep. Kiggans Enables Dangerous Anti-Democracy Extremism

WASHINGTON — Day two of the Republican National Convention featured speeches by the top two Republican House leaders, Speaker Mike Johnson and Majority Leader Steve Scalise, dangerously casting doubt on the integrity of our elections. Scalise touted MAGA House Republicans’ latest Big Lie Bill, the so-called SAVE Act, which lays the groundwork for another insurrection and passed through the House last week with support from Rep. Kiggans.

In response to Rep. Kiggans and House leadership’s dangerous efforts to promote the Big Lie, House Accountability War Room spokesperson Zac Petkanas issued the following statement:

“Speaker Johnson and Leader Scalise took to the Republican National Convention stage to promote their dangerous conspiracy around election integrity and lay the foundation for another insurrection. Rep. Jen Kiggans is pushing the same anti-democracy agenda. Just last week, we saw her vote with MAGA House Republicans to promote the Big Lie Bill, intended to undermine trust in our democracy and touted by Rep. Scalise last night. Rep. Kiggans voted for Speaker Mike Johnson, the leader of the effort to overturn the 2020 election results. Rep. Kiggans  is in lockstep with her party and is empowering MAGA extremists as they lay the groundwork for overturning the results of the 2024 election.”
