MAGA Takeover of the House Continues: Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar Appointed to Oversight Committee

WASHINGTON D.C. — Today, leaked reports indicate that MAGA House members Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) have been assigned committees in the Republican-controlled House. Both landed coveted spots on the House Oversight Committee, which MAGA leaders in the House plan to weaponize to conduct a series of politically-motivated investigations and revenge-based impeachments over the next two years. Additionally, Greene is set to serve on the House Homeland Security Committee and Gosar will sit on the House Committee on Natural Resources.

Prior to this Congress, both Greene and Gosar were stripped of their committee assignments in 2021 — Greene for spreading racist conspiracy theories and espousing dangerous and offensive rhetoric on social media and Gosar for posting an animated video of him killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY).

“The GOP House steering committee has once again made clear that the most extreme MAGA politicians in their party are setting and driving the agenda this Congress,” said Zac Petkanas, House Accountability War Room strategist. “Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar have consistently demonstrated that they would rather spend their time fanning the flames of violent and irrational conspiracy theories on social media than working on behalf of the American people.
