On One Year Anniversary, House Accountability War Room Slams Republicans’ Attempts to Take Credit for the IRA After Trying to Kill it, Continued Efforts to Destroy Our Economy

New Polling Shows Vast Majority of Americans (65%) Support Hallmark Legislation in Contrast to MAGA Republicans’ Deeply Unpopular Assault on Working Families and Our Democracy

Washington, D.C. — Today, House Accountability War Room celebrates the one-year anniversary of the signing of the Inflation Reduction Act and its historic investments to support working families—and condemns MAGA extremists in the House who continue to take credit for its benefits after fighting tooth and nail to kill it. In contrast to MAGA Republicans’ deeply unpopular assault on our economy and democracy, new polling reaffirms that the vast majority (65 percent) of Americans continue to support the Inflation Reduction Act.

“The Inflation Reduction Act – one of the most significant pieces of legislation in modern American history – is putting tens of thousands of Americans back to work, lowering prescription drug prices and ensuring our economy works for everyone, not just the rich and powerful who continue to bankroll the extreme MAGA agenda,” said Zac Petkanas, spokesperson for House Accountability War Room. “Americans are sick and tired of watching extreme Republicans sell them out every chance they get – including their countless efforts to block or sabotage legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act that tackles real issues facing families. Americans want to see Congress build on the success of the Inflation Reduction Act – from ensuring affordable drug prices to investing in clean energy jobs – not a MAGA Republican agenda that hurts working families.”
