REMINDER: House Republicans Have Already Cast 855 Votes This Month to Make an Election Denier Speaker

Since January, there have been over 3,800 votes cast by House Republicans for election deniers for Speaker – from Kevin McCarthy to Jim Jordan

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, House Accountability War Room condemned extreme House Republicans’ ongoing efforts to make an election denier Speaker of the House.

“From Kevin McCarthy to Jim Jordan, MAGA Republicans have made it clear they want an election denier to lead the House of Representatives. Just this month, House Republicans have cast a total of 855 votes to hand the Speaker’s gavel to an election denier,” said Zac Petkanas, spokesperson for the House Accountability War Room. “Placing a MAGA extremist and election denier second in line to the presidency puts our democracy in even more peril and threatens critical programs like abortion care, public education, nutrition assistance for moms and kids and the Social Security Administration.”
