STATEMENT: House GOP Extremists Advance Baseless Impeachment Inquiry

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, House Accountability War Room spokesperson Albert Fujii issued the following statement in response to MAGA Republicans’ vote authorizing an impeachment inquiry: 

“The American people see the House GOP’s ploy for what it is: a desperate attempt to distract the public from the failing MAGA agenda.

“Instead of focusing on lowering costs for families, averting a government shutdown or protecting our democracy, MAGA Republicans are laser focused on pushing forward a partisan, baseless impeachment. Yet, even GOP lawmakers are admitting that there is not one ounce of proof suggesting that President Biden has committed high crimes and misdemeanors.

“Let’s be clear: Speaker Johnson and MAGA extremists are more focused on lying to the American people than working for them.”
