STATEMENT: MAGA Republicans Rush to Pass Short-Term Spending Bill and Punt Shutdown Deadline

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, House Accountability War Room issued the following statement in response to the passage of a short-term funding bill.

“While Congressional leaders took an important bipartisan step today to protect the millions of Americans who would be impacted by a MAGA shutdown, let’s be clear: extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Speaker Johnson are just buying time so that they can try to jam their dangerous and unpopular agenda through Congress in the coming weeks,” said Albert Fujii, spokesperson for the House Accountability War Room. “Far-right Republicans will not stop until they are able to pass radical abortion bans and funding cuts for veterans, healthcare, public schools and other critical programs working families depend on. Speaker Johnson needs to prioritize the American people—not a MAGA agenda.”
