New Digital Campaign Ties Majority Leader Steve Scalise’s Priorities and Record to Project 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today the House Accountability War Room launched a new website highlighting Majority Leader Steve Scalise’ embrace of the policies of Project 2025, an unprecedented and dangerous takeover by MAGA Republicans and wealthy billionaire donors that rolls back Americans’ rights and freedoms, threatens our democracy, and hurts the middle class. 

For example, Rep. Scalise voted to make it harder for low-income households to afford nutritious food; he voted to raise home energy costs by repealing energy efficiency standards for home appliances, and he voted to slash taxes for the wealthiest corporations. The overlap between Rep. Scalise’s favored legislation and policies outlined by Project 2025 is undeniable.

To mark the launch of the new website, the House Accountability War Room spokesperson Danny Turkel released the following statement: 

“All it takes is a quick look at how Congressman Scalise has voted and the budgets he has supported to see that he and Project 2025 are essentially the same. Instead of fighting for his constituents, Rep. Scalise stood with Project 2025’s extreme policies that allow the wealthy and corporations to cheat on their taxes while working families pay more for prescription drugs.”
