New Digital Campaign Ties Speaker Mike Johnson’s Priorities and Record to Project 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today the House Accountability War Room launched a new website highlighting House Speaker Mike Johnson’s embrace of the policies of Project 2025, an unprecedented and dangerous takeover by MAGA Republicans and wealthy billionaire donors that rolls back Americans’ rights and freedoms, threatens our democracy, and hurts the middle class. 

Speaker Johnson’s mission is to push MAGA policies through Congress. He supports privatizing Medicare, gutting food stamps for people in need, and cutting funding from the Inflation Reduction Act – which he voted against in the first place. 

Speaking about Project 2025, Johnson said, “I certainly support the groups that are behind it and the principles that they’ve been working on.”

To mark the launch of the new website, the House Accountability War Room spokesperson Danny Turkel released the following statement: 

“Speaker Johnson has already told us he supports the groups and principles behind Project 2025, so it’s no surprise that he’s supported, and even voted in favor of some of the same policies as those included in this dangerous agenda. From proposing the privatization of Medicare, to gutting food stamps for people in need, and cutting funding from the Inflation Reduction Act, Speaker Johnson and Project 2025 are one and the same.”
